Banjul Pharmacy
Banjul Pharmacy is the leading pharmaceutical company in The Gambia, with outlets at Westfield Junction, Banjul's Independence Drive, and Kairaba Avenue. The chain of outlets is operated by MFH Group.
Banjul Pharmacy started in 1970, with only OTC medicines being sold. In 1980, a dresser dispenser, the late Mr. D. G. Williams was employed, when prescription medications started to be available. Later in that decade, the first Pharmacy retail branch was opened in the Capital, Banjul, on Independence Drive, and then later another in the Kombos, in a highly populated area in Serrekunda. A few years later the 3rd retail store was opened on Kairaba Avenue, a business and shopping area. After the demise of Mr. Williams, our present Pharmacist Mr. J.O. Coker (Gambian) was employed in compliance with the Medicine Board Regulations. All the retail and wholesale stores have State Registered Nurses under the Pharmacist′s supervision.
In 1992, the Wholesale Branch moved to the Banjul Pharmacy building on Independence Drive. This same wholesale branch has now been relocated to Kairaba Avenue. With our goal to serve the Gambian population, our retail outlets operate late hours (10 pm).
Banjul Pharmacy imports all its drugs from leading Pharmaceutical companies in U.K, EU, and India. We order medicines from reputable companies in both Trade and Generic forms to meet the public's affordability and standards. Banjul Pharmacy is the leading pharmacy in the Gambia, renowned for Quality, Affordability, Efficiency and Professional Service.
